GS Exterior Experts, a home exterior remodeling company based in the greater Denver area, engaged in a strategic marketing initiative aimed at increasing their online presence and lead generation. Specializing in roofing, siding, and window replacement, the company aimed to outperform top competitors in the local market.
The marketing efforts were centered on improving the company’s online visibility and driving high-quality traffic to generate leads. Growth Winner’s approach for GS Exterior Experts included a comprehensive website audit, targeted content creation, and a mix of SEO and PPC campaigns.

The Client


GS Exterior Experts is the greater Denver area’s premier home exterior remodeling expert.
Some of the services they offer are:
- Roofing (new and replacement)
- Siding
- Windows replacement

Essentially, anything to do with exterior remodeling and home renovation.
They came to us to help them increase their brand visibility, traffic, and leads, to win more clients in a competitive roofing market.
The Plan
Initially, the client set a goal of beating their top 3 competitors: Refined Exteriors, Scottish Home Improvements, and 5280 Exteriors. By the end of 2022, GS Exterior Experts is aiming for over 100 leads per month in the roofing and siding industry.
Despite spending money on paid search, they had limited search engine rankings and visibility against more established competitors. They weren’t generating the quality of traffic required to get more leads, especially from homeowners looking for brand new roofs.
Since they were competing against a range of popular exterior remodeling contractors in Denver so, we needed to find keyword opportunities to increase traffic and conversion rates through the leads pipeline.

The Execution
1. Website Audit
At the start of the project — we ran a site-wide website quality audit to evaluate the website’s technical, keyword, content, citations, and performance against competitors. These quickly identified areas that needed work and set up the rest of the campaign for success.

The authoritative links and Citations combined with our site optimizations had a massive impact and helped their website and GMB rank at the top of Google against target searches!
2. Content Creation
We know there’s enormous value capture even with low keyword search volume. We focused on creating top-of-the-funnel content — such as comparison posts, roofing types, and pre-project FAQs by customers. We created this content targeting keywords like “how often a roof needs replacement” getting this new content to rank, pushing traffic and leads into the funnel, and increasing conversion rates.
3. Keyword Research
We needed to identify keywords that would drive a higher volume and quality of traffic and leads. GS Exterior Experts wanted to reposition its content to attract homeowners looking for roof replacement and siding solutions.
4. Citations
The authoritative links and Citations combined with our site optimizations had a massive impact and helped their website and GMB rank at the top of Google against target searches!
5. PPC
We wanted to see their brand be seen everywhere that people look. So, until the website gets exposure from SEO, a dedicated PPC campaign manager worked on it to ramp up more leads. In short, SEO plus PPC is a lethal combination.
